Kinja'd!!!

My Grandma has tons of old restaurant menus lining her kitchen walls. I couldn’t tell you how old, but maybe a $4.95 filet mignon helps date them..? Anyways, enjoy. Bonus points if you’ve been to any of these places

Hungry yet? I’ll take the prime rib, a pitcher of sangria and finish off with Kathy’s pink surprise. What’s your meal plan?

I remember seeing an old looney tunes era (probably before 1970) cartoon where a teenager took a girl out on a date and the final bill was 50$. He had to ask his dad for money and the joke ended with the two of them washing dishes. I thought about this in high school in 2007 and realized that was a lot of money in 2007.....seeing these prices, I can’t imagine what two high schoolers in the 1950s could order that would be 50$.

Ghirardelli! Love that place! And I’ve probably eaten at an Old Spaghetti Factory at some point, but don’t remember it.

Wow no kidding. The most expensive restaurant in Washington serves a twelve course meal decided on by the chef weekly, with wine pairings for each course. Even that might not come out to $50 in 1970 money....

I had two shot glass versions of that. Same shape and design.

So... Delivery?

Was the original in Seattle or Renton? I seem to recall hearing about that

Ghirardelli is dangerous. I get a $15 voucher mailed yearly with no minimum purchase. Talk about devious

I think it was Portland, OR, but Seattle was a close 2nd or 3rd.

The one and only time I’ve ever stiffed a waitress on a tip was at The Old Spaghetti Factory when I was in college. A bunch of us went in for dinner and the only person who showed any interest in us was the busser. We tipped him and stiffed the waitress.

I’ve been to Ghirardelli and that specific Old Spaghetti Factory (now closed), both as a child but probably not long enough ago for those prices to be in effect.

I think the Farrell’s specialty ice creams (Gibson Girl, Pig Trough ect..) are about $16 at the new Farrell’s restaurants.

Not sure why, but the Steaks and Prime Rib menus remind me of 2 places in SF: The Condor Club & Hotel Utah.

I’m lucky that the closest one isn’t *too* convenient. Very dangerous...

But how did you score that?
